RAL is a globally recognised colour standard system with colour charts for architecture, interior design, and industrial design. The RAL Colour System provides 2,540 colours to choose from in three colour collections - Classic, Design and Effect. Devised to meet the needs of professional designers and specifiers as well as manufacturers, a variety of formats are available. Most RAL products are made from coated or printed paper, however, some colours are also available as plastic plaques. The fan formats provide inspiration on colour harmonies and contrasts, whereas the larger formats have colours arranged in colour space to aid colour definition.
