VeriVide at Ipex 2010 - Hall 10 Stand C267

Posted: Fri May 21, 2010

"Most complaints in the printing industry are related to

non-standard lighting and different viewing conditions".

This is what we are told by those within the Printing industry and that is something we fully understand as for decades we have been working with companies, in a wide range of industries around the world, helping them to make the right choices for their colour assessment lighting.

Our Light Cabinets or Viewing Booths or whichever term you wish to use, are specified by companies such as UK retailer M&S and global sportswear company, NIKE.

VeriVide at Ipex - Stand C267

We work with brands such as Unilever, Procter & Gamble and Adidas, and within the printing industry, Taylor Bloxham, one of the largest independent lithographic printers in the UK.

As all this suggests, we are ideally placed to offer sound advice on all aspects of your assessment lighting requirements.

Our experience and expertise in assessment lighting is available to you. We can offer guidance on your own colour assessment lighting needs or give reliable advice on the compatibility of your total viewing environment with ISO3664:2009.

If the clarity, subtlety and depth of your printed work is compromised by non-standard lighting or inconsistent viewing conditions, please visit us on Stand C267 in Hall 10 - adjacent to the massive Canon Stand.

We are confident, by working together with you, we can take away that particular headache. Our Proofing Cabinets and Pre-Press and Press Viewing Booths will be on show on the VeriVide Stand.

FENESTRA - PROOFING CABINET

The Fenestra is a visual proofing cabinet designed to simulate the appearance of the proof on your monitor. Conforming to ISO3664, the Fenestra accommodates paper sizes up to SRA3+ with a totally unobstructed viewing area.

  • Angled illumination gives consistent lighting over the whole print, eliminating light banding.
  • High colour uniformity over the whole image.
  • Minimal specular reflection - gloss paper appears as matte.
  • Designed to minimise the amount of stray light giving an easy assessment of subtle tonal differences in shadow areas.
  • A D50 simulation extremely close to the defined standard. Reliable comparisons of the ‘real’ print colour as it would appear under natural light.
  • Reliable visual match for all colours between the monitor and the hard copy.
  • High colour fidelity over the whole image area. No colour casts on the neutral to nes.
  • Suction deck for an uninterrupted view of your proof with no visual distractions giving an even, diffuse illumination.

CCC - VIEWING BOOTH

VeriVide’s Colour Control Cabinet (CCC) is the result of extensive consultations with Print Industry expertd and offers viewing conditions to ISO 3664 standard for the assessment of colours, ink weight, register, dot gain and provides an ideal environment for presentations to your customers.

The CCC is available is three sizes, with viewing decks of either 1500 mm, 1200 mm or 900 mm to accommodate a variety of large printed sheets.

The CCC is now fitted with two levels of illumination in compliance with ISO3664:2009.

  • HIGH LEVEL - To enhance the visibility of any colour differences in your printed work, those small colour differences between your proof and press sheet.
  • LOW LEVEL - A lower level of illumination is used to appraise the tone scale of your printed output

VeriVide's CCC - Viewing BoothLIGHT SOURCE OPTIONS
The CCC is fitted, as standard, with a single light source, the daylight illuminant - D50 (5000K),  a requirement of ISO3664:2009. Some viewing applications may require additional light sources  which can be fitted in various combinations to meet your specific requirements; Daylight - D65 (6500K), TL84, which is a Point of Sale Illuminant and also Ultraviolet.

CONTROL
To optimise consistency of viewing conditions the CCC unit is fitted with an extensive control panel which includes a Time-Metering Device which measures and records the number of times each lamp is switched on and the hours of usage for each lamp. This is a requirement of ISO 3664:2009.

An additional feature is the recording of the number of days until the next service interval which triggers a ‘Service Due Soon’ message 30 days before the service interval and a ‘Service Due’ message when the time has elapsed.

VIEWING CONDITIONS
A unique feature is the neutral grey concave viewing deck that eliminates specular reflection, allowing accurate quality control of colour. Proof sheets can be held in place on the curved metal deck using magnets provided.

The CCC has a diffuser to reduce specular reflection and a backlight display which makes the cabinet ideal for use in darkened room for your presentations to your customers. It also helps to minimise visual distraction as you are looking at the effect of the lamps without the distraction of looking directly at the lamps themselves.

To ensure you assess your prints at the optimum height and viewing angle we offer a range of optional items for the CCC Viewing Booth - these include Benches, Draws and Cupboards.
